Celestyal Cruises Participates in Posidonia 2018

Company Provides Support to ‘VOYAGE’ at Posidonia 2018, An Exhibition Dedicated to Greek Shipbuilding from Antiquity to Today

Piraeus, Greece: Celestyal Cruises, the preeminent cruise line serving the Greek Islands and the Eastern Mediterranean, announced its participation at Posidonia, one of the shipping industry’s most important events, and its support of “VOYAGE,” a unique exhibition dedicated to Greek seafaring and shipbuilding since antiquity. The exhibition takes place at Posidonia, from 4 June 2018 through 8 June 2018, at the Metropolitan Expo in Athens, Greece, under the auspices of POSIDONIA EXHIBITIONS S.A. and PAN Art Associations, Inc.

Visitors to Posidonia will be thrilled by this exquisite exhibition, which will take them back to the beginning of the relationship between Greece and the sea, a relationship which began millennia ago and continues, stronger than ever, in the 21st century. VOYAGE, which occupies the central corridor of the Metropolitan Expo, delineates the history of navigation in the Mediterranean and features 12 handmade wooden models of Greek ships. The models, built by Dimitris Maras, Mechanical-Engineer M.Sc, Micro-shipbuilder, date from antiquity to the 1900s and are part of a larger collection of more than 150 handmade models. Celestyal Cruises is supporting this initiative as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program.

"It is a great pleasure for us to participate at Posidonia this year, and to support VOYAGE, an invaluable exhibition that highlights Greece's historical supremacy in shipping, from antiquity to the present day,” said Frosso Zaroulea, Manager of Public Relations at Celestyal Cruises. “We are proud to support actions that contribute to the cultural development of our country."

"It is a great pleasure and honor to be part of Posidonia 2018, one of the world’s most important maritime exhibitions worldwide which, with the caliber and prestige of its exhibitors and visitors, has long been an important forum for the international marine industry, an industry that is always at the center of the global economy,” Said Nikolas Kontoprias, cofounder of PAN Art Connections Inc. “The Aegean and Ionian Seas have the maritime character of the Greek people for centuries. VOYAGE is a journey through Greek shipbuilding, from antiquity to the mid-20th century with 12 impeccable wooden models. We would like to truly thank Celestyal Cruises for the company’s support and trust and its continued contribution to Greek culture.”
